Day #75

Title: Faded Grandeur
Location: Saltdean Lido
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I was staying in Seaford last night and drove along the coast road to the University of Sussex's Falmer Campus for BarCampBrighton2. The road passes through Saltdean which has an Art Deco Lido, now looking a little bit the worse for wear. I had seen it on the BBC's "Coast" programme some time ago, so thought it might make a decent picture for today. The light was pretty flat and ovcercast, so a bit of Photoshop fiddling was required to bring out a bit of contrast.

I love this style. Such purity of line. Reminds me of the old penguin house in London zoo. And of course here in Miami Beach this style is all over in the most brilliant colors--blues, greens, and pinks. A nicely composed shot.
